Hello! I am so excited to start the journey in our new area of study! Sport and the Arts is such an exciting field and our Academy has an abundance of talent in both the students and the staff. Over the coming months I am really looking forward to getting to know all our students from 2-19 and finding out where their talents and skills lie. Yesterday a group of us went over to The Lighthouse Theatre in Poole to a schools concert put on by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. We were lucky enough to be sitting in the front two rows directly underneath the first violins and the most enormous grand piano. The sound was a-MAZ-ing! If you get the chance to hear them (and keep you eyes out, we will be running trips like this again in the coming months) do take it. Below is a link to one of the pieces performed - Holst's Mars, from the Planet Suite. Have a listen, it is supposed to represent a war. Am going to sign off now as I head from Victoria Building to OQ to rehearse a choir with Mrs Fryer who will perform on Saturday at Easton Methodist Church (3-5) in aid of Julia's House. It would be great to see you there. Ms W :)
