6th Form Induction and the Arts
Staff and students in the IPACA 6th Form were privileged this week to have the unique opportunity to be given a VIP tour of some of the B-Side events around Portland. We started the tour at Royal Manor Theatre, to witness an imaginative interpretation of the Portland coastline, by Tim Spooner, entitled The Shambles. We walked from Fortuneswell to Chiswell Walled Garden to engage with a couple of art installations and then on to Osprey Quay to watch a film, on a boat, of underwater wreck diving, accompanied by the haunting sounds of a cello.
The day, part of a two day Induction Programme, helped enormously with group bonding, pushing and supporting each other through comfort zones and gaining an understanding of individual and group dynamics. Lots of fun was had whilst learning about ourselves, employability skills and the diverse nature of art and culture.
